💖 Thank you to all our individual donors! You showed up this Pride 💖

Throughout Pride we asked for your support and you showed that you care about ending LGBTQ+ youth homelessness.

We're thankful for every individual, every share, every donation. We couldn’t do this without our amazing community.

Community in action.

At a time when the demand for our services has never been higher, we’re deeply grateful to every person who contributed. Your donations make a direct and lasting difference in the lives of young LGBTQ+ people.

Because of you, we can continue to be there when it matters most.

What Does £38,806 Mean for Young People?

These donations could support young people with a dedicated caseworker who will help them throughout their journey to a safe home. The amount raised over Pride could fund 1,951 hours of caseworker support!

Or they could support 147 young people looking for quick and clear support through live chat.

That’s 147 young people like Jenny.

Jenny’s Journey to a Safe Home

When Jenny* reached out to akt, she had been homeless for 12 months. Domestic abuse had forced her out of her home, and the trauma lingered long after the relationship ended.

Negative landlord references, partly due to property damage caused during the abuse, made it nearly impossible for her to secure long-term accommodation. She felt stuck. She had no safe space to call home and was unable to imagine a future for herself.

But with your support, we were able to advocate on Jenny’s behalf. We helped landlords understand the full context of her situation, found her safe and permanent housing, and even furnished her new flat, giving her not just a roof over her head, but a true home for the first time.

“This is the first time I have had a home that was safe.” – Jenny

From all of us at akt: thank you.

*Jenny’s story is true, but we’ve changed her name and image to protect her identity.
