We at akt are proud to announce the launch of our new website. It’s now easier than ever to access crucial support, advice and guidance when you need it most.

Minutes

akt is excited to announce the launch of our new website. Behind the scenes, we have been working hard to create the best possible experience for our service users and community to access what they are looking for.

With the help of some amazing people and organisations, akt has taken the time to evaluate how we can improve the experience of our services users. We’ve made our new website even more accessible, with our live chat feature and crucial information about housing resources, support and guidance all available at the click of a button.

Our young people said they wanted to see more self-help guides and multimedia on our new website, so we have uploaded a diverse selection of resources, on topics ranging from mental health to dating safely. All of these guides are filterable and available on our online hub, which is directly accessible through our home page.

We haven’t re-branded – but our new design layout has made it even easier to access support and information directly.

Here’s a little more information:

WHY HAS AKT GOT A NEW WEBSITE?

Our old website was out of date, so we asked some of our young service users, staff and other partners for feedback on how we could improve it. Using this feedback, we've made our new website easier to navigate, with less clicks needed to access our support services. We've updated our resource hub, ensuring that all our content is up to date, informative and accessible.

WHY HAVE THE COLOURS AND SYMBOLS ON THE WEBSITE CHANGED?

Our young service users said they wanted to see more vibrant colours and symbols on our new website, so that's exactly what we've done. We've stuck with our core colour, purple, and added a new colour pallet of pinks and blues. Each of our new symbols are unique, and represent a different department of our charity.

WHAT ARE THE MAIN CHANGES OF THE NEW WEBSITE?

We have made our new website much easier to navigate for young people accessing our services. All of our resources have been updated and are now filterable, we have added a live chat feature to our home page and it now takes less clicks to get to our support services and resources.

WHERE CAN I FIND THE SELF HELP RESOURCES?

You can find resources on our online hub which is accessible through our home page 'get support' button. Our resources are now filterable, making easier to find advice specific to you. We want our content to be easy to read and we're in the process of adding videos and infographics to our pages for those who are visual learners.

HOW DOES THE LIVE CHAT FEATURE WORK?

You can find our live chat feature on the right of our homepage. Our live chat is available from Monday-Friday, 10am - 5pm and puts you in live contact with a member of our team, who will typically reply within 5 minutes. If you leave us a message outside of these times we will get back to you during office hours.

IS THE NEW WEBSITE ACCESSIBLE?

Yes, we have worked hard to make our new website as accessible as possible. It is now far easier to navigate our site if you are looking for resources or support. We have aimed to meet the WCAG 2.1 AA standards for all aspects of the design and technical build of our website, providing resources in multiple different formats to ensure that there is something for everyone.
