take our survey into lgbtq+ homelessness

We are looking for 16-25 year olds and organisations to take part in our new LGBTQ+ youth homelessness research study. The research will be used to improve the lives of LGBTQ+ people aged between 16-25 experiencing homelessness or housing issues.

how we’re helping

We exist to give LGBTQ+ young people at risk of, or experiencing homelessness or a hostile living environment the support they need to thrive. Coming out or being outed as LGBTQ+ can still lead to young people being made homeless. We have four offices located in London, Bristol, Manchester and Newcastle, as well as a live chat open for support across the UK.
akt are addressing an issue often missed by many other homeless charities ... the safety of LGBTQ+ youth in their own homes.

HOW AKT HELPED ALEX

Alex contacted akt as they were living in a hostile environment with abusive family members who were unsupportive of their gender identity. They felt trapped and desperately needed a supportive environment where they’d be able to continue their education.
you guys helped me so much so if sharing my story can show how incredible you guys are I'd be honoured to do so!
Alex, akt service user
We assigned Alex an akt caseworker who helped them move into supportive housing, where they’re safe to pursue their future aspirations.
