Youth Programme Volunteer


The AKT Youth Engagement Programme ensures that young people have a voice in the work, resources and events of AKT. AKT is always on the look out for motivated people with ideas they want to see happen, and the energy to be part of AKT’s key events and activities such as our national Youth Conference and Pride events.


If you: 

Are excited to get involved with AKT and make a difference.

Want to support other LGBTQ+ young people and communities.

Want to have your voice heard in the work and direction of AKT. 

Want to get involved in helping plan and produce events and resources.

Want to contribute to current projects or have ideas for new projects. 

Youth Programme Volunteers should: 

Be between 16 and 25 years old. 

Identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community

Be located anywhere (and everywhere!) in the UK 

Have anything from a little bit to a lot of time. 

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Help out with events, whether that be local, national, or both!

Have your say on the design and development of resources.

Help out with the youth engagement project materials and social media. 

Represent AKT at public events, such as Pride. 

As a volunteer you will: 

Develop new and existing skills. 

Have the opportunity to meet a wide range of people.  

Have a say in what you do and your level of involvement. 

Have structured induction and training.

Receive ongoing support and supervision from the Youth Engagement Officer (Zoe).
