In December we launched our winter appeal so that we can reach more young people and help keep them safe and connected. Our supporters are lifelines for these young people, and the money raised from this appeal is enough to pay for over 1,000 bed nights in LGBT-friendly emergency accommodation, and a basic mobile with credit for those going without. We cannot thank you enough.

We know that many homeless LGBT young people have experienced rejection and escaped violence, and that they may find themselves cut off and unable to find help.

A basic mobile can be the difference between staying connected, and feeling isolated and even more vulnerable. That a night in LGBT-friendly emergency accommodation can keep someone safe from dangerous and hostile environments - situations no one should ever have to face.

If a young person has been thrown out of their home or rejected by their family they need help fast.

That’s why we launched our ‘Stay Safe, Stay Connected’ appeal, so that no LGBT young person finds themselves with nowhere to go, no one to turn to, and no way to get help. We are so thankful for the amazing support shown to these young people during this appeal – we raised enough to pay for over 1,000 bed nights in LGBT-friendly emergency accommodation, as well as basic mobiles and phone credit for those going without.

"This is fantastic and will make such a difference to keeping LGBT young people safe. Thank you from all the young people we work with - and those we haven't met yet - and everyone here at AKT!" - Nathan, our Case Worker.
