World Homeless Day 2020 This Saturday marks World Homeless Day. In the UK, 24% of young people who are homeless identify as LGBTQ+, many experiencing hidden homelessness. 77% of lgbtq+ young people say family rejection is the primary cause of their homelessness. Facing discrimination when trying to access safe housing is an everyday occurrence for LGBTQ+ young people, especially those who are Black and POC. On World Mental Health Day we also highlight the impact of LGBTQ+ youth homelessness on mental health. Lockdown has left many young people trapped in hostile or abusive environments.
