This is an exciting opportunity for a well-organised and professional individual to join our Bristol office to support our work with young LGBTQ+ people facing homelessness. You will need excellent communications skills, be highly organised and have the ability to balance a varied workload in a fast-paced environment to a range of co-workers.  This post has a combined focus of assisting our services team who work directly with young people in crisis and also carry out a variety of administrative tasks. 

Key responsibilities

  • Provide purchasing of items for our services team for young people which can include vouchers, household items, incidentals and booking of emergency accommodation
  • Provide general administrative support including (but not limited to) maintaining office supplies for Services staff, booking training, travel and accommodation for services staff, performing postal duties, taking minutes at meetings
  • Support collation of data from our Inform system and provide reports to the Services Directors and Managers
  • Monitoring Services email inboxes, covering phones and signposting non-urgent contacts
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • General office duties to support Bristol office day-to-day operations

Essential criteria 

    • Ability to multi-task
    • Excellent organisational skills and be able to prioritise work to meet specific deadlines
    • An excellent communicator both verbally and written and the ability to speak to a range of individuals
    • Numerate with an eye for detail to ensure accurate processing of financial and other data
    • A resourceful thinker with initiative and flexibility
    • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office applications

Desirable Criteria

  • Motivated by the mission of akt
  • Familiarity with issues of the LGBTQ+ community and/or homelessness
  • Experience of working with inform / saleforce
