Vacancy: Fundraising Manager (Corporate and Individual Giving) Deadline extended: Friday 29th January 2021 akt is looking for a Fundraising Manager (Corporate and Individual Giving) Salary: from £33,000Full time 35 hours per week (flexible working options considered) Accountable to: Deputy CEO Accountable for: No line management accountability Status: Permanent Location: based in one of akt’s service centres in London (preferred), Manchester, Newcastle or Bristol (some travel may be required) Benefits: 28 days holiday, 8 Bank holidays and pension THE ROLE Fundraising at akt has seen a sharp increase in income and profile over the last five years. We are now reorganising our teams and programms of giving. The Fundraising Manager (Corporate and Individual Giving) will play a key role in developing and strengthening relationships and growing income from corporate and individual donors (annual giving level) and increasing support from corporate LGBT Networks. This role will involve proactively managing a large portfolio of prospects and donors. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Create and implement an overall annual giving strategy and establish short- and long-term fundraising goals for the program in conjunction with the Deputy CEO Develop stewardship, cultivation and recognition plans for individual and corporate donors (annual giving levels) Manage and develop a portfolio of individual and corporate donors and undertake face to face cultivation and solicitation visits as needed Strengthen and develop relationships with existing and new corporate LGBT networks to grow this income stream Monitor income and expenditure targets and provide regular progress reports and updates on performance against targets Develop corporate volunteer opportunities alongside DCEO and volunteer coordinator Attending events as required and ability to work unsociable hours on occasion Ability to travel on occasion Performing other duties, as required, to fulfil department’s responsibilities and help other members of the wider team at busy times PERSON SPECIFICATION Essential skills: Experience of face to face fundraising and delivering presentations to external audiences Proven experience and a recent track record of success in raising funds from individuals and/or corporate sources Excellent writing and presentation skills Ability to understand budgets and summarise financial information accurately Enthusiasm and motivation to fundraise Ability to develop strong and positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders Ability to work well as part of a small team and to support, manage and motivate other members of staff and volunteers Ability to multitask, prioritise workload and meet deadlines at own initiative and with minimal supervision An understanding and appreciation of promoting and championing diversity Desirable skills: Experience of ThankQ or other CRM system Experience with prospect research techniques and tools Excellent networking skills and the ability to develop contacts Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills A resourceful thinker with initiative and flexibility Motivated by the mission of akt Familiarity with issues of the LGBTQ+ community and/or homelessness Click here to download job pack for individual and corporate giving manager Please return your application to [email protected] by 12 pm on Friday 15 January 2021.
