akt is the national lgbtq+ youth homelessness charity at the forefront of providing safe homes, mentoring and support to the 1 in 4 young people aged 16 to 25 facing homelessness who identify as lgbtq+.

We are looking for a person passionate about our cause, to provide general and specific administrative support across the organisation’s departments and functions. A great communicator, you will have experience of administration work and of supporting senior staff, along with great IT skills and an organised approach.


To provide general and specific administrative support across the organisation’s departments and functions and locally to the Manchester office and to support the organisation’s performance reporting. 

To support the digital operation of the organisation by:

  • being the point of contact for IT support and information to the staff team across all offices and leading on liaison with our IT providers for reporting issues.
  • providing web based administrative support to ensure AKT’s central digital portal to the organisation is up-to-date and functioning
  • To provide administrative support for the monitoring and evaluation work of the organisation; including monthly and quarterly reporting


  • Undertake administrative IT related project work, to include database and systems issues.
  • Support the processing of DBS checks for the organisation
  • Complete administrative tasks across the organisation and in particular administration and office support for the Manchester Office
  • Provide cover for the Executive Assistant in their absence
  • Assist in the preparation for events and meetings, including sourcing and booking space, the organisation of any catering or other arrangements as necessary
  • Provide finance administration support as requested by the finance team
  • Book travel and accommodation for staff and volunteers as required
