The Albert Kennedy Trust supports lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans homeless young people in crisis. Every day we deal with the effects homelessness can have on young people's lives. We have offices in London, Manchester and Newcastle.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Assisting in spreading information regarding AKT to other services.
  • Outreach work to Young People
  • Research in ways to get our name ‘out there’ with client group.
  • Distribute service guides and information.

Volunteers should meet the following criteria

  • Ability to communicate confidently and clearly with volunteers, young people and members of staff
  • Understanding of the issues – practical and emotional – facing young homeless people
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook

Support for Volunteers

Volunteers receive the following support throughout their volunteering:

  • Structured induction and training 
  • Ongoing support from your supervisor
  • Access to further training
  • Travel and other reasonable expenses reimbursed
