Our volunteers are an integral part of the AKT family- they account for 90% of #teamAKT.

We rely on our volunteers to help us keep young LGBT+ people facing homelessness safe and off the streets.

Why join in? One of our volunteers, Grant, explains: "you will find it rewarding and inspirational working closely with young people, watching them develop with your help and support, it will also challenge you as an individual and for me it has taken me out of my ‘comfort zone’ which has been great for my own personal development." All our volunteers are given an induction to their role at AKT, as well as ongoing training and support.

Being involved with the young people and being inspired by their positive outlook on life in the face of adversity and watching how engaged our young people are when we arrange events for them is very rewarding.
