AKT was proud to recently host its 10th annual Youth Conference in October.

The event was themed Create Your Future, and hosted over 80 young people from across the UK- including regions such as Scotland, Wales, Liverpool, and Brighton (and many more!)

Participants were invited to a social on the evening before at the incredible Temple of Oscar Wilde, by artists McDermott and McGough, at Studio Voltaire.

This year AKT was pleased to welcome its first international guests to the conference, with representatives from True Colors in the USA, Le Refuge in France, and Streha in Albania attending.

Participants heard from panellists discussing how we create the local and global futures we want to see, and from those actively engaged in working towards those futures in a variety of areas.

Participants attended a number of workshops, considering everything from how to support your peers; human rights; trans and gender diverse communities; and badge making, among others. Attendees  were invited to think about the role they play in shaping their world, and to contribute to the future direction of AKT. Feedback from participants was positive and enthusiastic, and suggestions included making it an even bigger and longer event!
