The next few months should be an interesting time for the Newcastle Office with many new ideas just on the horizon.

We find ourselves rapidly approaching Pride season 2018 with the Newcastle staff having a presence at both Newcastle & Durham Pride where with any luck we should see a repeat of last year’s beautiful sunny weather and excellent turnout!

Our services team continue to expand our outreach work to promote our services in Newcastle and further our aim of preventing LGBT youth homelessness with a talk and workshops at Northumbria University already planned.

We hope over the next three months to work more closely with our long term partners in the North East as well as hopefully establish some new connections.

We’re also currently in the process of finding a new office space in Newcastle city centre, aiming to place us in the heart of the city to make ourselves more visible and accessible to our young people, and allowing us to work more easily and more immediately with young people in need.  We’re also looking to improve our young person’s space to make it more welcoming and should have some new sofas within the next couple of weeks.

Having just said goodbye our Social Work student Sarah after she completed her placement we eagerly await the opportunity to introduce and work with our next student, starting in May.
