The Albert Kennedy Trust (AKT) is delighted to announce that Ian McKellen, one of Britain's best loved actors, has become a patron of the charity.

Young People

"All through my life I've had to deal with being gay, and when you are looking for somewhere to live, you have to be extremely wary. It was a fluke that I heard about AKT. I was very, very lucky, and they got me a place in a gay shared house near college and my family" JAMES aged 17 years.

"AKT has made a big difference to my life. If I hadn't got this placement I probably would have had to leave school and find a job. Instead, I can finish my A-levels" KAPOOR aged 18 years.

"At least I know at AKT there is someone who understands me" ZARINA aged 16 years.
