Payroll Giving - give as you earn.
| ".when you are gay and you've come from and environment that's not been nurturing towards that, you feel bad about it, ashamed of being gay. When I first came to London I hated being gay and wasn't ready to live on my own.I used to cut myself. So AKT found me supported lodgings with carers. Had it not been for that phone call to AKT I don't know what I would have done. Now I have started University and my life is good and I have a lot of prospects". |

How payroll giving works.
Payroll Giving is a tax efficient way to give to The Albert Kennedy Trust whereby each month a donation is deducted by your employer's payroll department from your wage before tax is applied. For example,
- If you want to give £10 per month you pay £7.80 and the tax man will pay the balance of £2.20
- Of course if you are a higher rate tax payer then you will pay £6.00 and the tax man will pay the balance of £4.00 for every £10.00 donation you make
Three simple steps:
- Ask your payroll department whether they offer the payroll giving scheme (they might call it 'pay as you earn')
- Decide how much you want to personally give each month (remember the amount you pledge includes the contribution by the tax man) and instruct your payroll when you want your donation setting up and they will do the rest
- Your donation will come through to us each month via CAF (the Charities Aid Foundation)
Please remember: Don't forget to check out with your employer whether their payroll giving scheme match's employee donations - making your donation even more valuable to us at no extra cost to you.
