British 10K London Run 2012
Sunday 8th July 2011
Run London for the AKT
2012 in London is the year of the Olympics and the Diamond Jubilee but also marks the twelfth anniversary of the nation's favourite London 10K road race, the British 10K London Run. Sign-up NOW to join "Team AKT" and help raise funds for the Albert Kennedy Trust!
Over the years the race has played host to some of the world's greatest athletes and raised millions of pounds for hundreds of charities and good causes through the efforts of runners from all walks of life raising sponsorship to run the race.
The race route is undoubtedly the most historic and sporting 10K route in the UK, running through the heart of historic London, passing many of London's world famous and iconic sights. These include Wellington Arch at Hyde Park Corner, St. James's Palace (the former London home of HRH The Prince Of Wales and princes William and Harry), Trafalgar Square, the magnificent St. Paul's Cathedral (the venue for Royal weddings and state funerals), the unique London Eye, Big Ben, the world's most famous clock, the British Houses Of Parliament and historic Westminster Abbey (the site of royal coronations and funerals) before finishing on Whitehall, just past the entrance of 10 Downing Street (the official London residence of British Prime Ministers). The finish line is also close to the Cenotaph, where every Remembrance Sunday, the nation remembers those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defence of the realm.
Each year the race has been a sell out event and AKT spaces are limited. Enter NOW to avoid missing your chance to take part in this great event!
Registration is just £25 with a commitment to raise a minimum of £150 per person through sponsorship.
